Carolina Hemlocks
Nestled under the towering Hemlock and hardwood shade trees of the majestic Black Mountain Range and the South Toe Valley of North Carolina, the Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area and Campground is a cool and misty haven after a day of vigorous adventure spent in the outdoors. A favorite pass time for visitors is tubing down the nearby South Toe River or hiking the Colbert Ridge or Hemlock trails. The Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area is 10 miles from Burnsville in the Black Mountain Range of North Carolina. The campground is very well known for the natural swimming hole with access along a sandy bank, where the very popular water fun of tubing goes on all summer long. This is a great family fun campground. The area also offers fishing and two great hiking trails.

Camping Season
The camping season is Mid April through the end of October.
Carolina Hemlocks Attractions
Drinking water, showers and flush toilets. The campground also has camp hosts and a gatehouse. There are grills, tables and fire pit at each site.

This campground is a favorite family recreation area. It offers fishing, hiking, ranger talks, river access swimming and tubing.
