Hardin Ridge Recreation Area

The Hardin Ridge Recreation Area and campground, located in the Hoosier National Forest, is located 12 miles south of Bloomington, Indiana. All the sites are shaded and located not far from the 10,750-acre Monroe Reservoir, the largest lake in Indiana. There is a 300-foot sandy swimming beach with a convenient bathhouse. For the biking and hiking enthusiasts there is a 2-mile hiking and bicycle trail that starts at the day use area. There is also an amphitheater that hosts interpretive programs.

Hardin Ridge has 6 campground loops with a total of 200 sites. 37 of these sites are walk-in, primitive sites without hookups or adjacent parking.
Camping season
The reservation dates and peak camping season is from mid May through the beginning of October.

Water fountains, telephones, hot showers, flush toilets, centralized water, flush toilets, playground, fishing ponds, boat launch ramp, horseshoe Pit and firewood is available for a fee.
