Tygart Lake State Park is located in Grafton West Virginia. It was created by a dam built by the Army Corp of Engineers onthe Tygart River and offers beautiful access to camping, fishing and hiking. There are cabins the lodge for the less adventurous. There are two campgrounds on the lake, each on oppisite sides of the lake. The first campground is in Tygart Lake SP. The other campground is a lesser known one located in Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area on the other side of lake. Camping at Tygart Lake SP gives you access to the state park whereas the campgrounds in Pleasant Creek WMA are more secluded. Pleasant Creek WMA is located about 10 miles south of Grafton WV on US 119 South at the Taylor and Barbour county lines. I’ve camped it twice and it is very peaceful and beautiful.
